Australia Lottery

There are many lottery-related draws across Australia, far too many to list them all on our Asia Lottery pages. That leaves us to summarise the best of them for your perusal and we couldn’t mention those without a mention for Tattersalls, Australia’s biggest lottery operator.

Tattersalls, or the Tatt’s group as they are known, run most of the major Australia Lottery draws. Think Oz Lotto, Oz Powerball and the New South Wales Lottery Group and you’ll immediately see that the name Tattersalls in synonymous with lotteries in Australia.

Oz Lotto is one of the biggest lotteries in the whole of Australia and produces jackpots that can rival some of the world's largest games. Drawn once weekly every Tuesday evening, Oz Lotto is a traditional numbers game where players choose seven balls from a potential 47. To win the Oz Lotto jackpot you need to match all seven numbers to the numbered balls drawn.

Oz Powerball, known as the Australian Powerball, is a lottery based on the successful American Lottery of the same name. This once-weekly lottery is drawn on a Thursday evening and to win you need to match seven balls from 35 and then another one Powerball, drawn from a second selection with 20 balls. The jackpot rolls over if nobody wins and it has been known to go as high as $200 million.

These are just two of the main Australia Lottery draws, along with other games such as Saturday Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Lotto, and Set for Life. You can participate in both, and learn how to play on our other lottery pages.
